Twelve HKU distinguished scholars have been named by the international academic website Research.com among the top 100 scholars globally in their respective disciplines in 2024 out of a total of 26 disciplines. Among them, five professors have been ranked first in Asia in their fields.

Six HKU Scholars Named Among the Most Influential in AI 2000 List
Six scholars from the Faculty of Engineering have been recognised as the 2024 AI 2000 Most Influential Scholar (Honorable Mention) for their exceptional contributions to artificial intelligence between 2014 and 2023.

Outstanding Researcher Awards 2022-23
Twelve winners were awarded in the 2022-23 Outstanding Researcher Awards Scheme, the annual awards for research excellence which aim to recognise, honour and reward exceptional work in research by HKU staff. Awardees were celebrated at a presentation ceremony in March 2024.
