HKU Secures Significant Funding in Major Government Research Schemes
In the Research Grants Council (RGC)'s latest funding round for large-scale projects, HKU researchers will participate in 8 of the 9 funded Theme-based Research Scheme (TRS) projects and coordinate 2 of them, and participate in the 2 projects funded under the Areas of Excellence (AoE) Scheme.

Physicist Dr Yi Yang Selected for Asian Young Scientist Fellowship
The Asian Young Scientist Fellowship announced its inaugural Fellows for 2023. Among the chosen twelve exceptional early-career scientists is Dr Yi Yang, who has been selected as a Physical Science Fellow. He is an accomplished researcher in the field of nanophotonics and optical physics.

Prof Xuechen Li Receives Chinese Chemical Society Contribution Award
Professor Xuechen Li of the Department of Chemistry has been honoured with the Contribution Award in Carbohydrate Chemistry by the Chinese Chemical Society, which recognises his pioneering contribution in precision chemical synthesis, chemical biology, and the development of therapeutic glycoconjugates of glycoproteins and bacterial complex carbohydrates.
